About the Event

Eva-Henry Dawson – Solo Show

Opening Reception: Sept. 1, at 7pm

I paint and draw in a variety of media and techniques, however I am best recognized for my watercolours. I try to capture the simple beauty of the world and its inhabitants both in the macro and the micro aspects. Whether it’s a Nova Scotia landscape, tiny fragments of nature like the lichen on an old birch tree, or the microscopic image of the retina of the eye, I will study it meticulously and bring it to life on paper with colour and detail. I am known for the vibrancy of my palette and the whimsical touch that allows the viewer a personal relationship with my art pieces. I paint the surroundings of our New Annan home, as well as the fields and barns I photograph on our road trips.

We will see landscapes and portraits and 10-15 smaller visuals that have been used for illustrations in two children’s books.

All paintings have a Maritimes connection, be it a snow covered hill, a time weathered barn, a local farmer taking a stroll with his dog, or a little red headed girl reading “Anne of Green Gables” book.
