Artist Bio

Ideas of vulnerability and emergence interest me, with the result that lakes, watercourses and wetlands often serve as a launching point for my explorations where abstracted blocks of colour are often interrupted by line or other shapes within a representation.

The work in this display includes some experimental work which were inspired by days spent at our former lakeside cottage. With family on the verandah and watching the sun sparkles reflect back into our eyes, we would enjoy a glass of ’something” as we told stories together.

My biggest task in developing a painting is identifying a single felt-feeling for my subject.  Balancing the subject-feeling with a minimum of distracting elements while trying to emphasize the informative areas, is a thoughtful challenging process.  Increasingly I make these decisions with more self-acceptance and confidence.

I thank you, the viewer, for taking time to view these works and hope you will connect with and find meaning in some of them
