Artist Bio

When I was eight years old, I had a class assignment to learn about an animal. I chose the Shoebill Stork, drawn to the large abstract markings on its bill. This is my oldest memory of drawing anything and I was so proud of the result. That started my interrupted journey to explore and paint abstractions.
As a teen, I would experiment with unconventional paints and materials. I remember a family friend stating I had a dark mood, but really, I just I didn’t know how to lighten my paintings.
The next time I painted was three and half decades later, attempting abstract landscapes, inspired by colour, fields, sky, and light. I took a workshop determined to learn how to paint like Mark Rothko!
My visual journey has continued uninterrupted over the past three years, with lots of help from mentors
